Where we came from
Formally called Denise Daniele Dance Studio, Denise Daniele Dance Center was established in 1973, fulfilling a lifelong dream of Denise Blackstone to share her passion for dance with young students at the Jersey shore. Having received a teaching degree in New York, she was overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from the community when she opened the doors at 780 Burnt Tavern Rd. All through the early years of the new studio Denise continued to take classes in New York, studying with such inspirational teachers as Charles Kelly, Frank Hatchett, Don Farnworth, Germaine Salsberg, Finis Yhung, Celia Marino, and many others. After her marriage, to fellow dancer Richard Blackstone, also from New York, in 1975, both young teachers dedicated themselves to offering the most professional and progressive dance environment possible.
Where we are
Over the years many top professionals have been brought in to teach at the studio, which had expanded greatly, and many students graduated and went on to careers in the dance field. Each new generation received the most stimulating and inspirational training possible. Continuing to this day with a new owner, Anjelica Roman, herself an alumni of the studio and member of a dance family, raised in the studio for over the last 30 years.
Where we are going
Under the direction of Anjelica Roman, DDDC will continue on as a studio committed to providing its students with a exemplary dance education taught by qualified dance educators. Those that leave the studio will not only become outstanding dancers but admirable individuals.
